It’s National OMC Day

November 10, 2011 | nballard

Today is a special day—it’s National OMC Day! Have you ever run around “mooing” like a cow? Have you had a smiley face drawn on your head with shaving cream? Have you run a lap pretending to be chased by a swarm of bees, then asked for a sponge to be squeezed on your head? If your answer is “no” or “I have no idea what you’re talking about”—you haven’t played OMC!

What’s OMC you ask? It’s a large group game created by CentriKid Camps called Organized Mass Chaos (OMC). This isn’t just any game! It includes food, shaving cream, water balloons, toilet paper and so much more. It features crazy tasks that involve leaders, friends, and lots of laughs. Kids (and adults) love playing at CentriKid Camps so much that we actually created The Official OMC Game so you can play at your local church or home.

This marks our second year to celebrate National OMC Day. You should celebrate with us! If you have an OMC shirt, wear it. If you have The Official OMC Game, get a group together and play it. If you’ve ever played OMC, share your funniest moment playing in the comments section below. We’ll enter you into a drawing to win your very own OMC game kit!

Be sure to visit the CentriKid blog to see a special video commemorating National OMC Day!

We wish you a wonderful, merry, fantastic, happy OMC Day!!

OMC is the best game ever! I got the joy of being a staffer on CK7 this summer!
Of the 11 times I played OMC this summer, the funniest moment happened during a game at Eckerd College in Florida.
A precious little third grader came up to me and told me that he needed to trade shoes with me. My toes could barely fit in his shoes. I know the task said something like “Trade shoes with an adult and run around the field.”…but he never brought my shoes back. I had to find him after the game right before debriefs to get my shoes back!
I think I still may have blisters from that.

We played OMC for the first time 2 years ago and I LOVED it so much that I brought it home to play at two of our summer camps that I am in charge of. The best moment for me was when one of the girls at camp who was very shy and quite came up to me covered in shaving cream from head to toe with her hair sticking straight up and said “Miss. Patty this is the coolest thing I have ever got to do! I am so happy I got to be here!” She accepted the Lord that night and the next year when she came back she brought a friend. The first words out of her mouth “I told my friend about God and OMC…she doesn’t believe the part about OMC so I brought her so she could see how fun it is and maybe she will get to know Jesus like I did.” Total AWESOMENESS!
