Go read Deuteronomy 6. You’ll see that the spiritual development of children is the responsibility of the parent. Truth is most of us already knew that, but we often get caught up in the myth that it’s our job to train kids on spiritual matters. After all, we are the “spiritual leader” for the kids in our church.
I believe our job really should be a partnership with parents to do what God has commanded them to do. So, what part of your Kids Ministry is a partnership? What are you doing to help parents do what God has called them to do? How often does your ministry help to equip parents to do their ministry?
Be a Deuteronomy 6 Kids Minister. Find ways in 2013 to better equip parents. Find opportunities to under-gird the families God has placed in your ministry. Figure out how you can be a partner with parents to raise up a godly generation.
Easy? Not always. The right thing to do? Yep!
