We all like to be appreciated. It doesn\’t have to be with million dollar checks (although, I would thank the Lord for that blessing!), boxes of chocolates or diamonds. But, it is incredibly important that on a regular basis we take the time to say, thank you, to those give of their time and life each week to invest in kids and their families.
Especially as we approach the Valentine season, we want to remember our significant others. Well, how about taking advantage of this season to let your kids ministry volunteers know that you love them, too. Consider the following possibilities:
- Plan a breakfast on the Sunday before Valentine’s Day to honor your Bible teachers. Invite them to drop by a designated spot to partake in snacks/goodies prepared just for them.
- Flowers never go out of style as a thank you to ladies. Wouldn\’t it be nice to have a single stemmed flower to each female teacher on the Sunday for Valentine’s. Consider giving the male volunteers something to eat! (cookies, a bag of nuts, or some breath mints, etc.)
- What about planning a Teacher Appreciation Day for your volunteers. Send a communication to parents asking them to show love and appreciation to their child’s teachers on the Sunday before Valentine’s. (notes, art work made by the child, treats, etc.)
Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
