Prepare a fun way to review your Bible story with preschoolers by finding a small, square box. Cover the box with brightly colored paper as if wrapping a gift. Then, on each of the six sides of the box write one of these words: Who? What? Where? When? Why? How?
After telling your Bible story ask the children to form a circle. Let them take turns rolling the box into the middle of the circle. Explain that you will choose the child who gets to roll the cube by observing who’s sitting the most still, who is sitting up very straight, who is smiling, and so on.
Once the chosen child rolls the cube, invite anyone in the group to answer the question about the story according to the word that lands on top. For example, Who was our story about today? Where did the story take place?
Preschoolers learn through doing. An activity will always be more successful if the children get to take part. So, when reviewing any Bible story with preschoolers, consider doing more than just asking review questions. Take the extra step and prepare something for the children “to do” in addition to simply answering a question!
