This past month, morning commutes have become longer due to school buses making routes, stores have been more crowded due to back-to-school sales, and social media has been taken over by first day of school pictures. School is back in session. During the school year, most kids will be in school for at least 35 hours a week. Our administrators, teachers, and other students have great influence over our kids. They need our prayers throughout the year. Below are suggestions of ways to pray for students, teachers, and administrators each day of the week:
Sunday: Pray teachers and administrators see their role as a divine appointment in the lives of students and to particularly see they may be the only positive influence in the lives of students. Pray students’ parents understand the importance of church involvement and spiritual leadership in their families’ lives.
Monday: Pray teachers and administrators see their role in forming the character of students. Pray students have a clear mind and desire for learning.
Tuesday: Pray teachers and administrators have discernment to see needs of students and the wisdom to know how to respond. Pray students find friends and develop godly friendships.
Wednesday: Pray for teachers as they fulfill other responsibilities in addition to teaching. Pray students seek God’s purpose and meaning in life as they learn.
Thursday: Pray for teachers and administrators to have the wisdom in dealing with parents, students and coworkers. Pray for students’ safety at school and campus activities.
Friday: Pray for teachers and administrators as they prepare lessons, to have the ability to impart knowledge in a way that students can understand and grasp. Pray students build trust with teachers.
Saturday: Pray for the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of all teachers and administrators. Pray for balance in their life. Pray students make wise choices.
Join me in praying for students and teachers this school year. I encourage you to pray individually, as a family, and with others. Throughout the year, give praise and thankfulness to God as you see Him answer your prayers.
