Introducing Every Age Every Stage

Finally, a whole book devoted to Levels of Biblical Learning!

I am honored to have played a small part in the new book Every Age Every Stage: Teaching God’s Truth at Home and Church, a book devoted to unpacking the Levels of Biblical Learning. For over two decades, the Lifeway Kids team has helped develop, enhance and improve this valuable teaching tool for ministry leaders and families. Many of you, through the years, have asked us to develop a full resource that equips churches and homes to use the LOBL for effective, age-appropriate discipleship. Well, that time has come and I am thrilled to be announcing the release of Every Age Every Stage. 

Co-authors Ken Hindman and Landry Holmes, two of my heroes in the world of children’s ministry, have poured an incredible amount of knowledge and experience into this resource. They would be the first to tell you that the three of us stand on the shoulders of so many experts who have done the research to produce the Levels of Biblical Learning, including Bible scholars, school teachers, parents, pastors and ministry professionals. Reimagining that research into a book has been a labor of love and we are so excited to finally be able to share it with you! 

Who is this book for? We wrote it with three audiences in mind:

1. Parents: Now more than ever, parents need an effective plan for discipleship at home. This book will help them be aware of what their child or teen is capable of understanding about God’s word. Moms and Dads don’t have to be intimidated by a lack of biblical knowledge because this book will serve as a coach to not only guide them as they teach, but also help develop a passion for learning the Bible together as a family. 
2. NextGen Leaders: With the addition of two new levels (Middle School and High School), the Levels of Biblical Learning represent all NextGen ministry areas including Preschool, Kids and Students. Our hope is for each ministry leader to use the book to become proficient in the concepts and levels for their age group. Think of it as a go-to manual that stays on your desk, not the bookshelf! 
3. Pastors and Staff: Because the book unpacks a full discipleship plan for every age group, we believe senior pastors, discipleship leaders, ministers of education and church staff would benefit from using this book as a way to stay on the same page with every age and stage of their church family.

Our prayer is that churches everywhere will use the Levels of Biblical Learning to develop their own discipleship plan contextualized to their ministries. We believe this book will inspire and equip churches and families to champion discipleship for “every age and every stage” represented in their congregations. We are excited to see how the Lord will use it for his kingdom and his glory!
