Report Your VBS Numbers: It Matters More Than You Think

July 16, 2025 | Kids Ministry

When the last craft is packed away, the decorations come down, and the final snack crumbs are swept up, it might feel like VBS is over. But there’s one more important step: reporting your numbers.

Yes, it may seem like just another administrative task, but submitting your VBS report is actually a powerful part of your ministry’s impact. Here’s why it matters:

It Tells the Story Behind the Fun

Your numbers tell a story. How many kids came? How many volunteers served? How many decisions were made for Christ? These numbers help you reflect on all God did during the week and give your church a clear picture of the spiritual fruit.

It Honors Your Volunteers

Reporting your numbers shows volunteers the results of their service. Whether it’s 150 kids learning about Jesus or 3 children making first-time faith decisions, your team deserves to know the impact they were part of.

It Helps You Plan for Next Year

Was your preschool class overflowing? Did snack supplies run out by day three? Tracking attendance, group sizes, and volunteer numbers can guide your planning for next year so your VBS can grow smarter and smoother.

It Helps Your Church and Denomination See the Big Picture

Many churches send their VBS reports to their denomination or network, where the data contributes to larger ministry insights. We gather VBS data from churches nationwide to understand trends, resource needs, and gospel impact.

When you report your numbers, you’re adding your church’s voice to a much bigger story.

It’s a Way to Celebrate What God Has Done

Ultimately, reporting your VBS numbers is a way of saying: “Look what God did here.”

It’s a testimony to His faithfulness and a reminder that every single child, volunteer, and moment mattered.

Don’t Skip the Final Step

So before you move on to the next thing, take a few minutes to report your VBS numbers.
