We’ve all been there. You’re eager to connect after a long day apart, so you ask, “How was your day?” and get the classic one-word response: “Fine.” It’s not that our kids don’t want to talk; sometimes, they just don’t know where to start.
That’s why intentional conversation matters. Those few minutes in the car, around the dinner table, or during the walk home from school are golden opportunities. They’re not just chances to learn about math tests and lunchroom drama, but also to shape your child’s heart.
When we invite Jesus into those everyday moments, we remind our kids that faith isn’t just for Sundays. It’s meant for science class, soccer practice, and everything in between. Christ-centered conversations can help kids process their day through the lens of God’s truth, grow in empathy, and deepen their relationship with Him and with you.
To help spark meaningful connection, we’ve put together conversation prompts for the drive to and from school. Whether you use them to break the silence or take your chats a little deeper, we pray they help you plant seeds of faith in the most ordinary, beautiful moments of your day.
If you’re a kids ministry director, send this blog to the parents in your ministry to help inspire conversation!

- Is there a Bible verse or truth you want to remember today?
- How do you think Jesus would treat your teacher and classmates?
