Your Value as a Kids Ministry Leader

You are just a kids ministry leader. 

You are just a volunteer. 

Just is a small world, but it can have a big impact. Even when no one speaks those words out loud, we can say them to ourselves. When we think about our roles, our impact, and our authority, we can be tempted to question our value and worth. 

But you are not just a kids ministry leader.  

You are a kids ministry leader. 

You are a kids ministry leader. 

You are a kids ministry leader. 

You are a kids ministry leader. 

You are a kids ministry leader. 

You have incredible value and you are an incredible part of your team. 

You Are Sent by God 

“How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.” (Romans 10:14-15) 

You are sent by God. Each week that you teach the Bible, pray with kids, and point kids to the truth about Jesus, you are pursing valuable work. You may never see the results, but you can know that God is working as you teach kids about Jesus and make space for them to grow in a relationship with Him. You are valued by God, and You are sent by Him. 

You Are Setting an Example 

“Join in imitating me, brothers and sisters, and pay careful attention to those who live according to the example you have in us.” (Philippians 3:17) 

You are setting an example for the kids and families you serve. As you love and follow Jesus, your life demonstrates what a life lived for Jesus looks like. From the joy on your face when you’re talking with kids to the authenticity you share when life is challenging, you are modeling a relationship with God. You are valued by God, and He is working through you to show what it looks like to live for Him. 

You Are Gifted 

“Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God. If anyone speaks, let it be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, let it be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.” (1 Peter 4:10-11) 

You are gifted. In whatever capacity you serve, God works through your gifts and talents. The unique and special ways God has designed you are remarkably made for you to bring Him glory. You are valued by God, and He has gifted you in unique and incredible ways. 

You are not just anything. You are a kids ministry leader. This is an incredible calling that is valuable, wonderful, and amazing.
