I do not have a green thumb. I have tried to keep plants alive at times, but I always seem to fail. One of my favorite plants was given to me by a 4th grade girl that I taught in Sunday School as a Christmas gift. She gave me an amaryllis plant. It was amazing to watch it grow into beautiful blooms without watering it!
We all know though that in order for plants to stay alive we must care for them. We must take the time to give them the proper water, sunlight and soil for nourishment. That is similar to preschool and children in their spiritual growth. We can’t sit back and do nothing and expect growth. We have to be intentional.
We are all familiar with the verse in Proverbs 22:6 that says, “Start a youth out on his way; even when he grows old he will not depart from it.” It is vital to equip children as they grow so God’s Word is embedded in their hearts. An understanding of basic truths about God, the Bible, and salvation are critical. The next generation of adults can be well equipped because you provided a wise plan of discipleship to this generation of children.
The next generation of adults can be well equipped because you provided a wise plan of discipleship to this generation of children. Share on XWith Bible Studies for Life, you can be confident that the preschoolers and kids in your church are learning about God and the Bible at age-appropriate levels. You have a discipleship plan that guides kids in your ministry from infancy to preteens—and even their high school years. Parents can be equipped to lead their children with solid biblical teaching that allows them to become the next generation of disciple makers.
All this is made possible by a discipleship framework we use in Bible Studies for Life called the Levels of Biblical Learning®, Ages & Stages: A Discipleship Framework for Church and Home. As kids grow, their understanding of foundational truths grow with them.
The Levels of Biblical Learning is a tool that outlines 10 spiritual concept areas (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Bible, Salvation, Creation, Church, People, Family, and Community & World) across each stage of development, from infancy to high school.
Discipleship doesn’t happen by accident, and it doesn’t fall on your shoulders alone. This resource is a great tool for everyone that impacts the life of a child, from kids’ ministry leaders, to volunteers, to educators, and to parents to use in the home.
This resource is available at lifeway.com. We encourage you to order a booklet of Ages and Stages for every volunteer and parent in your ministry.
For additional support, check out our book, Every Age, Every Stage that will assist ministry leaders, teachers, and parents even further to guide children and students in their faith journey. You can also access the Free Training on the site to help you in your ministry.
We are praying for you as you lead!
