5 Reasons You Need to Take Some Time Off

September 6, 2013 | Kids Ministry

JESome folks are wired to thrive on routine and others are more spontaneous.  No matter your normal routine or lack thereof, we all need to change it up sometimes. Here’s a few reasons why:

1 – Unplug from the busy-ness. Retreat means to pull back, rest, withdraw to a quiet place.

2 – Relax and enjoy the fact that you are not in charge!

3 – Get a new perspective, connect, meet somebody new who can brighten your day.

4 – Find inspiration, see something or learn something that changes the game for you.

5 – Change up your routine.  Get up earlier or stay up later — whatever it is, don’t just go to the office or to the church like every other day.

JE

There are great ways to take the time off whether it’s taking a “stay-cation” and just vegging out or doing something that’s unique and fun.  For some folks it might be time to actually go on a vacation, a long weekend, or attend a marriage retreat.  Others may need to take a retreat within the course of ministry by going to a conference or spending the week at camp with your kids.

What action will you take right now so that you carve out some intentional time off for yourself, for your family, or for your ministry?
