In Luke 2:52 we read, “And Jesus increased in wisdom, and stature, and in favor with God and with people.”
We know that Jesus was fully God and we also know that He was fully man. As a human we know that Jesus grew according to God’s plan for humans. According to Luke 2:52 we see that Jesus grew mentally, physically, spiritually, and socially & emotionally.
If Jesus grew according to God’s plan for a boy (which He did) than we can assume that kids today will also grow in these five areas. As Christian educators of children, understanding these characteristics will help us to create systems and learning opportunities that help children to be successful in learning about God and His plan for their lives.
At Lifeway Kids we are committed to creating resources that undergird these basic characteristics. Below you will find a document that shares general characteristics of specific aged kids. While every child will not fit into these parameters, generally speaking, keeping these characteristics in mind will help you create successful environments for learning, growing, and understanding.
