The anticipation and excitement of the holidays brings a mix of emotions and experiences. It is a time when people come together to celebrate, reflect, and create special memories, making it a meaningful and cherished time of the year. This is such a fun month as we teach preschoolers and kids about the miracle of Christmas, the real reason for the season!
God told His prophets hundreds of years before Jesus’ birth that He would come. God didn’t just tell one prophet, but He told several from different places at different times. It is amazing how the story of Jesus weaves throughout Scripture. God made His people a promise, and He kept that promise. God’s people had to wait a long time before Jesus arrived, but He is faithful! I think our preschoolers and kids can relate to the struggle of waiting during this season. Once the Christmas decorations are up, the anticipation and excitement are all around! This is a great time to remind kids that people had to wait for Jesus’ arrival, but God kept His promise by sending His Son, Jesus!
The Christmas season can be full of wonder and excitement, but it can also be so easy for kids to lose sight of the true heart of Christmas. The distractions of the season can sometimes steer kids away from the spiritual significance of this celebration. We have an opportunity to share the true miracle of Jesus. As you prepare to teach, I pray that you will take some time this Christmas to reflect on His love and provision for you! I encourage you to spend some time focusing on Isaiah 9:6 and reflecting on the names of Jesus. He is our “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 11:1-5 tells us Jesus will have a “Spirit of wisdom and understanding, a Spirit of counsel and strength.” He will be full of knowledge, and He will be a good judge, showing mercy to all. Isaiah 7:14 tells us that He is our Immanuel, God with us! Grab your Bible and spend some time reflecting and praising God for His promises! May the Christmas season remind us of the incredible gift of Jesus and inspire us to continue to spread His love, joy, and wisdom to the preschoolers and kids entrusted to our care. Share on X
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, let’s remember that our role is not only to import knowledge but also to reflect His love, light, and teachings to the kids. May the Christmas season remind us of the incredible gift of Jesus and inspire us to continue to spread His love, joy, and wisdom to the preschoolers and kids entrusted to our care.
We are praying for you! Merry Christmas!
