In honor of this day, I found the most random chocolate covered recipe that I could find (other than insects – i\’m totally not going there), so let me share my experience of making Chocolate Covered Bacon!!
I borrowed a recipe from the Taste of Home website:

I started by skewering the bacon, which I probably wouldn\’t do if for some odd reason I ever make chocolate covered bacon again, but my cat Dixie really enjoyed watching. |

| I baked the bacon in the oven for 25 minutes, but it still wasn\’t crispy enough so i ended up microwaving it as well. If I make it again, I\’ll just use the microwave to cook the bacon. |

| Then I melted my chocolate. I used almond bark and semi-sweet chocolate chips. I used a spoon to spoon the chocolate over the bacon and held the bacon over the bowl for a few seconds for the extra chocolate to drip off. |

Lastly, I decorated the bacon and put it in the fridge to set. |

I haven\’t tried a piece yet. I kinda feel like someone needs to be there to witness the eating of the chocolate covered bacon for it to count. I\’m planning on having a taste test tomorrow at work. I’ve made this myself. It is surprisingly good.
My son and son-in-law actually tried this last summer when my daughter had left over chocolate from some other recipe. My son-in-law just happened to be making bacon and the two of them decided they needed to use the left over chocolate and tried it on the first thing they saw…bacon. They liked it! 🙂 I’m not sure I’m brave enough to try it myself. haha

This is fantastic, I remember about a year ago just randomly shouting out “Chocolate Bacon” at my girlfriend and ever since its stuck in my head. A quick google search and here we are. Definitely something I’m going to try now it’s had the seal of approval. Thanks
